How to add content to the Voice tab?

This document is to highlight the best practice to enter content that gets delivered as the Audio output.

 

On the platform, the editors will have the option to enter content on the Voice Tab and the Text tab. The content on the Voice Tab will be used to render audio output to the User. Be it through the Voice skill or through the Speaker response of the Chatbot.

The content from the Text tab will be used to render the ChatBot output.

By using the Voice and Text tab’s appropriately, we can differentiate between what gets read out and whats shown on the Bot, helping to get a better UX.

Flow Studio Content editor


Special situations like hyperlinks and telephone numbers which should be read out correctly in the Audio output should be marked using the Insert SayAs Tag icon on the Editor.

Example of Telephone content:

  • Go to any Flow Studio control editor.

  • In the Voice Tab, use the Insert SayAs Tag icon to select the type of that content.

  • This will open the SayAs Tag properties dialog box.

  • Please select the appropriate type (Characters, Digits, Telephone, address, time, date, etc.)

  • Provide the display text in the SayAs Text field.

  • This defines how the content should be read out.
