This document will help you to understand how to migrate from the Answers v1 knowledge base to the Answers v2 knowledge base.

For this migration option to be enabled, the following conditions should be satisfied.

  • The environment must have Answers v2 enabled.

  • The environment should have Answers v1 contents before enabling Answers v2. So that migration option would be available for the existing Answers v1 contents.

The Existing Answers v1 contents or the new Answers v2 contents could be seen in the same place as of previous versions. Navigate to your Project > Create > Agents > Answers

  1. Answers v1 contents will be visible only if they were present before enabling Answers v2 in the environment.

  2. The "Migrate“ button will be available for every KB in Answers v1

  3. Required KB’s can be migrated to v2. Once all the KBs are migrated to v2, v1 won’t be accessible.

  4. Click the “Migrate“ button against the KB which needed to be migrated to v2.

  5. A warning pop-up will be displayed stating that this process cannot be undone.

  6. A CSV backup file would be downloaded. Please save it for future reference.

  7. Upon clicking on “Continue Migration“, The contents will be migrated from v1 to v2 and a success message will be displayed.

Primary Question

In v1, if Label is not present, the first question in the questions list will be considered as Primary Question in v2.

In v1, if Label is not present & Questions list is also empty, then the primary question will be empty in v2.

Labels

  1. The Answers that would be created will be on v2 only by default once v2 is enabled in the environment.

  2. If there are no existing Answers v1 contents, users will not be able to see v1 options.

  3. Once all the existing v1 contents are migrated to v2, users will not be able to access v1.
