1.2 The Orbita Platform
This document provides you an overview of the Orbita platform, its positioning, key differentiators, an overview of solution modules and key capabilities, and many more.
Introduction
Orbita is a conversational AI platform for healthcare, helps organizations tap the power of voice, chat, and other conversational interfaces for digital help.
Orbita’s customers leverage Orbita in some way or another to either increase patient engagement, improve quality of care or reduce cost, or all of the above.
Orbita’s conversational AI platform is a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform and is built on the Amazon stack but it is vendor-agnostic; meaning it is not tied to any particular framework or channel.
Its capabilities are designed for business users empowering them to manage and deliver conversational experiences and bring those solutions to market efficiently.
What you can do?
Orbita platform has modules and capabilities to support the activities that span various phases of the project lifecycle design, built, manage and optimize.
Design
The individuals may be creating early-stage conversational designs of prototypes and collect feedback.
Build
In the build phase, they are developing conversational models, integrating with 3rd party systems, creating business logic to support these specific use-cases of the project.
Manage
This phase includes managing, testing, and deploying across the channel.
Optimize
Understanding user engagement, improving relevance and accuracy based on the understanding of the user engagement is done at this phase.

We take security extremely seriously at Orbita, we have an entire security team (VPN) security compliance, ensuring that we have the infrastructure and business processes in place to ensure data privacy, security, etc.
Enterprise-Ready
Orbita can integrate with EHR, CRMs and other third-party content providers even connect with IoT devices and other wearables.
Omni-Channel and Multi-Modal
Orbita is channel-agnostic; it's not tied to any particular vendor or framework. It is omnichannel and multi-modal.
Omnichannel - Its ability to interface with any type of conversational channel.
Multimodal - Its ability to support multiple modes of interactions such as voice, chat, text, and even touch or gesture.
It can reach patients and individuals anywhere on the devices that they are using day-to-day.
Platform architecture
Core Platform
The platform from the ground up, you have the core platform layer at the bottom and this offers lower-level components and capabilities focused more on Natural Language Processing, Alerts, notifications, and so on. This is also where we have APIs and SDKs available.
Orbita has full rest API and SDK available for interfacing with capabilities on the Orbita platform.
Core product Modules
On top of the core platform modules, we have core product modules. This is where we have the key modules that are used in most of the projects such as the Experienced Designer, Flow Studio, Orbita Answers, Orbita Insights, and others.
Experience Modules
On top of the core product modules, we have our Experience modules. These are the modules that may play a role inside the projects based on the needs and requirements of those specific projects.
Solutions
We have our solutions built on top of the experience modules. The solutions are the accelerators that are built on top of the platform to solve specific business problems for specific markets.
For example, we have the digital front door solution for providers, the HCP a support solution for life sciences, and others.
Architecture
The below architecture diagram highlights the extensibility of the Orbita platform.
We think of extensibility in three ways; extensibility in:
Listening,
Understanding, and
Adapting.
Listening
The Listen layer refers to the types of channels and devices that are supported. Any type of conversational interface can be supported.
Understanding
The understanding layer focuses on the type of processing that is happening to understand the context(intent), what’s been said by the individual. Orbita can interface with the built-in services and supports the third-party API integration as well.
Adapting
The adapt layer focuses on dialogue selection which can either happen:
deterministically where business rules that might be defined in the Flow Studio or the Orbita Answers really driving the conversational dialogue or
based on AI where the machine learning model is making a more probabilistic determination of the best response to the individual.
