3.1.4 Prototypes
An administrator can create a chatbot prototype in Experience Manager, and share its URL with clients.
Creating a Prototype
Login to Experience Manager and select a Project.
Select Design > Prototypes.
To add a prototype, click Add.
Enter the Prototype name and a short description and click Add. The sample prototype is created.
Select the prototype you want to edit among the listed prototypes.
Click click here to create a new conversation.
To edit or delete a conversation that is already created, open the menu; Edit and Delete buttons will appear.
Prototypes have a Design View tab and a JSON View tab.
Design View. Creates a step-by-step conversation flow for the prototype. (No coding skills required.)
JSON View. Creates a conversation by coding. While creating a new prototype, the JSON view will be empty and will be populated as new chat bubbles are added to the Design View. JSON View is helpful in moving a conversation from one environment to another. In the Design view, click the chat bubble with a "+" sign to create a chat bubble in the conversation. This will open the multimodal content editor window.
To edit a chat bubble that is already created, double click on the chat bubble or click on the button to click "Edit". This will open the multimodal content editor window.
Enter the conversational text. The Multimodal content editor has 4 tabs:
Voice. The text is converted to audio and voiced out to the user.
Text. The text is displayed to the user as a chat bubble. This can be different from the Voice text.
Screen. You can add an image to show along with the bot says. (This is not available yet in the prototype.)
Buttons. You can add buttons after the chat bubble for the user to click or respond.
The User says bubble is displayed on the right-hand side of the conversation in blue.
Click user says, enter text in the Say text field, then click Add.
Enabling a Prototype
After you create the conversation flow, go to View page and click the prototype to run the conversation. Click Play to start the playback.
Simulation Controls
The users can control the simulation with media control buttons such as pause, stop, next, and previous, that are placed in the design screen.
Clicking on the Next button will make the bot go to the next conversation bubble and skip the current bubble.
Clicking on the Previous button will make the bot go to the previous conversation bubble (if any).
An administrator can share the conversation, by opening the menu next to the prototype name and selecting Enable Share.
If sharing is enabled, you can open the Prototype menu and click Share; a dialog box contains the link to the chatbot prototype.
Click the public share link to copy the URL to the clipboard.
You can share the URL with anyone; they can comment in the conversation without logging in. The following image shows a user’s view when accessing the conversation, using the shared URL.
The user can comment on a specific chat bubble by clicking on Comment below each chat bubble; the following screen appears where the user can post a comment.
An administrator can view the comments by clicking the Comments below each chat bubble.\
Disabling a prototype
An administrator can also disable sharing by opening the menu and selecting Disable Share.
If the sharing is disabled, then the URL is deactivated and the message Unable to find the prototype is displayed.
If the Admin still tries to share the prototype by clicking the Share icon, below dialog box will appear.
Clicking on click here will enable sharing.
